Tucked away on the breathtaking Le Morne Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Mauritius’s most stunning locations, Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is a destination that truly lives up to its name. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why this resort is regarded as one of the most exceptional places to stay, not just in Mauritius, but in the entire Indian Ocean.
From the moment you arrive, the resort’s setting steals the show. Le Morne Brabant Mountain rises majestically in the background while the turquoise lagoon stretches endlessly before you. The beach here is something special, wide, soft, and powdery, perfect for long walks or simply sinking your feet into the warm sand. The lagoon, particularly in front of the Junior Suites, is beautifully calm and gently sloping, making it ideal for swimming or floating the day away under the Mauritian sun.
What I love most about Paradis Beachcomber is how it manages to feel both romantic and family-friendly. The resort offers a wide variety of accommodation, from spacious suites that open directly onto the beach to luxurious family villas tucked away for privacy. For couples, the beachfront rooms and suites are a dream, you can wake up to the sound of waves and step straight onto the sand. Families, on the other hand, will find plenty of space and convenience, with 2-Bedroom family Suites and activities for all ages. And then there are the iconic Paradis Villas, some of the most sought-after on the island. These occupy the resort’s prime real estate, offering a level of seclusion, comfort, and ocean views that are simply unmatched. Staying in one feels like having your own private slice of paradise, with all the benefits of a five-star resort just a stroll away.
If you’re anything like me and love being on (or in) the water, Paradis Beachcomber is a dream come true. The lagoon is perfect for snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking, while the resort’s boathouse offers practically every water sport imaginable, including water-skiing and diving. Whether you’re a beginner looking to try something new or an expert chasing an adrenaline rush, there’s something here for everyone. Guests also have full access to the neighbouring Dinarobin Beachcomber, which expands the playground even further. It’s a wonderful bonus — more beaches, more pools, and an additional four restaurants to explore.
Food is an essential part of Paradis Beachcomber, and the resort does not disappoint. With four restaurants on-site and access to further four at Dinarobin Beachcomber, variety is guaranteed. Each meal here feels like an occasion, whether it’s a leisurely breakfast with ocean views or a candlelit dinner under the stars. A couple of highlights not to miss are, lunch on the beach at Blue Marlin, where the catch of the day is grilled to perfection and served with a gentle sea breeze. Then, for dinner, La Ravanne is a must, a beautiful, open-air restaurant that celebrates authentic Mauritian cuisine. Dine under twinkling lights, and savour local flavours infused with Creole, Indian, and French influences. It’s one of those dining experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

Because Paradis Beachcomber faces west, you’re treated to some of the most spectacular sunsets on the island. Every evening, as the sky turns shades of gold and pink, the entire resort seems to pause — guests gather by the beach, cocktails in hand, to watch the sun melt into the Indian Ocean. It’s the kind of moment that reminds you just how special this place is.
For golfers, the resort is heaven. The par-72 18-hole championship golf course is one of the most scenic on the island. Designed to challenge players of all levels, it features lush fairways framed by palm trees and turquoise water. On five holes, you’ll literally hit your shot over the Indian Ocean, which is both exhilarating and humbling. Even if you’re not a golfer, it’s hard not to be impressed by the setting.
One of the advantages of staying at Le Morne is how close you are to some of Mauritius’s most famous natural attractions. The Black River Gorges National Park is just a short drive away, a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Nearby, Chamarel Falls and the Seven Coloured Earth provide breathtaking scenery and perfect day-trip options. The region’s historical significance and raw natural beauty make it well worth exploring during your stay.
Of course, what truly sets Paradis Beachcomber apart is its artisans. The service here is warm, genuine, and effortlessly professional, the kind that makes you feel at home while still being completely pampered. Whether it’s the smile of a waiter remembering your favourite drink or the staff at the boathouse greeting you by name, the resort’s team embodies the spirit of Mauritian hospitality at its best.
For me, Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa isn’t just a resort, it’s a feeling. It’s the sound of waves at dawn mixed with the charming calls of Zebra Doves. It’s a place where luxury meets nature, and where every detail, from the food to the service, reflects the beauty and warmth of Mauritius itself.
If you’re looking for the ultimate island escape, whether as a couple, family, or group of friends, Paradis Beachcomber delivers on every level. A true paradise by name and by nature — and in my opinion, one of the finest resorts in the Indian Ocean.
